Regardless of whether you\u2019ve purchased a cream, powder, or strips, though, you\u2019ll want to give your dentures a thorough cleaning. Creams and strips provide better adhesive when your restoration is dry, so unless you\u2019re using powder, wipe down your dentures with a clean towel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s important to review the product instructions for application, but in general, creams are spread in a thin layer over the underside of your dentures, powders can simply be sprinkled on, and strips come pre-cut \u2013 all you have to do is stick them on like tape!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Much Product Should You Use?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While denture adhesive is designed to be safe to have in your mouth, there is such a thing as using too much. Excess cream and powder will squeeze out from underneath your dentures if you don\u2019t apply the product carefully. And if you find yourself using denture adhesive on a regular basis, your prosthetic probably needs to be relined by your dentist. This is another reason why it\u2019s important to read those product instructions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Removing The Adhesive and Leftover Residue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, removing denture adhesive is fairly straightforward. At the end of the day, gently pry off your dentures and scrub them with a soft bristled toothbrush and hand soap. Swishing warm water in your mouth before taking out your prosthetic can help loosen it from the adhesive, and if you\u2019re having trouble removing residue, soak your dentures in an approved cleaning solution overnight. They should be pristine and ready to go the next morning!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denture adhesive is an excellent tool for helping you get used to your new appliance or for when you simply need an extra-secure hold.
